The Annual Awards

The Pattaya Restaurants of the Year

Ten flagship awards from the editors — for the rooms, kitchens, and people who shaped Pattaya dining in the year just past.

Naming the year's best restaurants is necessarily a partial exercise — every list of ten is also a list of forty omissions. What follows is the editors' considered judgment after eighteen months of writing this guide, hundreds of meals, and the kind of conversations with operators, chefs and long-term residents that don't make it into a published review. These are the rooms we'd send our most discerning friend to, and the citations explain why.

№ 01
Restaurant of the Year

Cafe des Amis

4.8·French / European·Pratumnak·$$$$

Pattaya's most consistently celebrated fine-dining destination of the past decade — a Pratumnak hilltop institution that has remained at the top through chef changes, market shifts, and the city's ever-rotating dining tides. The 5-course tasting menu remains the single most-considered evening you can plan in Pattaya.

Newcomer of the Year

Edge

4.5·International·Central Pattaya·$$$$

Hilton Pattaya's reimagined open-kitchen flagship — six live cooking stations, a Sunday brunch that has quietly become the city's gold standard, and the kind of confidence that only comes when a hotel commits to its restaurant as a destination, not an amenity.

Wine List of the Year

Royal Grill Room and Wine Cellar

4.6·European·Pratumnak·$$$$

The Royal Cliff's underground cellar — said to be Thailand's only one of its kind — anchors a dining room that takes the matching of food and wine more seriously than anywhere else in the city. Reserve, dress, and trust the sommelier.

Hidden Gem of the Year

Bruno's Restaurant & Wine Bar

4.7·European·Jomtien·$$$$

Co-founded in 1999, quietly excellent ever since. Locals call this Pattaya's first independent fine-dining restaurant. The menu reads like a careful old friend's letter — and the prices, by Pratumnak fine-dining standards, remain considerate.

Beachfront of the Year

The Glass House Pattaya (Boho)

4.2·Seafood / International·Na Jomtien·$$$

Now rebranded as Glass House Boho, this Na Jomtien beachfront institution has held its sunset crown across two ownership eras and three menu reinventions. The 170+ table seating means you'll always get in; the sand-edge view means you'll always remember it.

Steak of the Year

Manhattans Steakhouse

4.5·Steakhouse·Central Pattaya·$$$$

In a city full of steakhouse pretenders, Manhattans still does the basics correctly — proper aging, sourced beef, the right grill heat, a wine program that respects the protein. The kind of restaurant where the ribeye is the meal, not the prelude.

Most Improved

Mantra Restaurant & Bar

4.5·International·North Pattaya·$$$$

Mantra has spent the last two years quietly leveling-up — kitchen rotations across stations, sharper service, a wine program that has grown teeth. Still the buffet brunch warhorse, but now with credibility on the à la carte side too.

№ 08
Date-Night Restaurant of the Year

Mata Hari Restaurant

4.7·European·Pratumnak·$$$

The most quietly romantic dining room in Pattaya. Pratumnak hill, ocean wind, the kind of small refined dining room where the lighting alone is doing half the work. Reserve a corner table and let the evening unfold at the pace it wants.

Casual Restaurant of the Year

Cabbages & Condoms Restaurant Pattaya

4.5·Thai·Pratumnak·$$$

Founded by Mechai Viravaidya — the man known across Thailand as 'Mr. Condom' for his pioneering public-health work — and still channelling profits to the PDA. The food is genuinely good Thai; the cause is genuinely worth supporting; the value is unbeatable.

Lifetime Achievement

Casa Pascal Restaurant

4.5·European·Central Pattaya·$$$

Twenty-five years of Pascal Schnyder running a Swiss-led European fine-dining institution in the heart of Pattaya. Cannelloni, white asparagus when in season, a wine list that has outlasted three Pattaya construction booms. The city's most reliably good European dining room.
