Why this site exists
Pattaya has hundreds of restaurants and thousands of TripAdvisor reviews, and yet most "best of" articles online are either thinly disguised tourist traps, promotional content from PR agencies, or six-year-old listicles. We started this guide because nobody was answering a simple question well: where would a local actually go?
Every entry is hand-researched, cross-referenced against multiple sources, and written by someone who has eaten in Pattaya for years - not auto-generated, not scraped, not sponsored.
Our promise
- No paid placements. No restaurant has ever paid to be on this site, ranked higher, or written about more positively.
- No affiliate inflation. No "book through us for a 10% kickback" schemes that bias recommendations.
- Honest cons. Every in-depth review includes what works and what to watch for. Restaurants are not perfect; pretending otherwise is useless.
- Verified info. Hours, addresses, phone numbers, and prices are checked against current sources before publishing.
- Ongoing maintenance. Pattaya restaurants close, change ownership, or change menus - we keep updating.
How an entry gets written
Each "in-depth" entry (marked with the red In-depth badge) goes through:
- Cross-checking ratings, review counts, and recent comments across Google, TripAdvisor, and Wongnai
- Verifying address, phone, hours, owner, and price tier from official channels
- Reading recent (last 6 months) Google reviews to spot trends - recurring complaints, signature dishes people love
- Writing the editorial hook, tagline, and detailed long-form review with specific dish recommendations
- Adding insider tips, hours, payment, parking, accessibility, dietary notes, and FAQ entries
Templated entries (without the badge) cover restaurants we have identified as worth tracking but have not yet given the deep treatment. They are slowly being upgraded.
How to use the site
Built mobile-first because that is how almost everyone arrives - phone in hand, walking around, hungry. One tap to call, one tap to get directions, "open now" status visible without thinking. Locate-me sorts everything by distance. Filter chips for the obvious stuff: open now, halal, late night, vegetarian, beachfront.
The map view (/map) shows everything geographically. The "best of" lists (/best) curate by cuisine, vibe, or occasion. Each restaurant page has the full review at the bottom for when you want to read.
Found something wrong?
If a restaurant has closed, changed hours, moved, or you spot any other inaccuracy: please let us know. We would rather fix it fast than keep stale info up.
This is also a young directory - we are working toward 200 restaurants. If your favorite Pattaya spot is not here, tell us.
